After studying at the Art School for Women and Girls in Vienna Vally Wieselthier was from 1914 to 1920 a student of Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann and Powolny and others at the School of Applied Arts in Vienna. Then she became a member of the Artists’ Ateliers of the Wiener Werkstätte, but also had her own studio in the Esterhazygasse. Her ceramic works for the Wiener Werkstätte became a synonym for the «Happy Twenties». Also still active in: glass, textiles, wallpaper, toys, book covers, free and commercial art, painted wooden boxes. Collaboration with Gudrun Baudisch-Wittke. Emigrated to the U.S. Participate in almost all the major exhibitions of the Wiener Werkstätte, including: Fashion Exhibition 1915, Art Show 1920, Paris 1925, German Women’s Art Exhibition 1925, The Hague 1927/28.
